Post Edges Molloy 3-1 for Seventh Straight Win

Post defeats Molloy in four and looks forward to a CACC matchup on Saturday

WATERBURY, Conn.- Seven straight victories for the Post University volleyball team as it dismantled the Molloy Lions for the second time in two weeks. The Eagles came out triumphant in four sets 23-25, 25-16, 25-7, 25-15.

Yet again the seniors guided the flight towards victory, Morgan Griffin (Plainfield, Conn.) recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 11 kills and 14 digs, while Hailey Griffin (Plainfield, Conn.) led the team with 18 kills. Skylar German (Kansas City, Mo.) added 17 kills and six blocks.

The Eagles came out slow in the first set dropping it 25-23.

German and sophomore Sarah Seger (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) found the stroke with the serve in the second and the third sets paving the way for an easy victories 25-16 and 25-7. German paced a 10-point swing in the second while Seger also added a 10 point run for the Eagles.

In the fourth set it was more of the same, as Post came out firing as German had three massive kills in a six point swing which put the Lions in a hole they could not dig out of. Senior Heaven Dulaz (New Haven,Conn.) crushed the final point to give the Eagles the set and the match 25-15.

Junior Sarah Ryder (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) led the team with 24 digs. Sophomore Brianna Root (Bristol, Conn.) put up 51 assists on the night.

Next up for the Eagles is a home game on Saturday, Sept. 17 against Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) foe Chestnut Hill. German is only 11 kills away from eclipsing the 1,000 kill mark in her career.
