WEST HAVEN, Conn. – The Post University women's volleyball team headed to New Haven and left victorious yet again with a huge non-conference victory over the Chargers for its fifth consecutive win. The Eagles took the match 3-1; 20-25, 25-20, 25-17, 25-19.
Senior
Morgan Griffin (Plainfield, Conn.) paced the Eagles with a team high 14 kills and 17 digs. Leading Post in assists was sophomore
Brianna Root (Bristol, Conn.) with 38 and New Haven-native Heaven Dulez led the team with five blocks.
The beginning of the match started with a bang as Post led 5-1 before the Chargers stormed back and took the first set 25-20.
The tides turned in the match as Post took a timeout trailing 14-11 in the second set. Out of the timeout, Root took to the service line and helped the Eagles to five straight points, giving Post the lead 16-14 which it never looked back from.
After taking the third 25-17, the Eagles and Chargers were tied 12-12 in the final set. Post grabbed control with two straight points and a tremendous hustle play by senior
Hailey Griffin (Plainfield, Conn.) put the Eagles in front 18-16 and forced at New Haven timeout. Griffin saved the ball with a dig near the back line before getting a block at the net for a point. Post won five of the final six points to take the match.

Michael Brienza's team moves to 5-2 on the season and will face off against Stonehill on Tuesday in North Easton, Mass.
