Uniondale, N.Y. – Junior
Rafael Tous (Flemington, N.J.) and senior
Erik Rodriguez (Miami, Fla.) each drove in two runs apiece, but a late rally fell short as the Post University baseball team dropped a non-conference game to Molloy, 14-5 on Wednesday afternoon.
After falling behind 14-0 early on, the Eagles put together a three-run seventh inning as RBI singles from Tous and classmate
Rupert House and a sacrifice fly from Rodriguez made it a 14-3 game. Post would add two more runs in the eighth on an RBI groundout from Tous and an RBI single from Rodriguez.
Molloy scored four runs in the second inning as Michael Rahn homered, followed by back-to-back RBI triples from Elijah Leerdam and Jack McCarty. Leerdam and McCarty also drove in runs on RBI singles in the third, making it a 7-0 game after three innings. The Lions added five more runs in the fifth, including two on a two-run triple from Deilyn Guzman.
Junior
Joey Picone (Washingtonville, N.Y.) finished the day 2-for-4 with two runs scored for the Eagles. Rodriguez was 1-for-2 with two RBI and Tous was 1-for-3 with two RBI and a run. Sophomore
