ORANGEBURG, N.Y. – The Post University women's lacrosse team was defeated by Dominican 18-5 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game on Saturday afternoon. Sophomore
Toni Deren (Greenlawn, N.Y.) and senior
Jasana Levy (Meriden, Conn.) each scored twice.
Deren grabbed a ground ball after a shot by sophomore
Sam Rodriguez (Wayne, N.J.) was blocked midway through the first half. She beat the keeper for her team-leading 19
th goal of the season. In the final minutes of the half, Rodriguez scored as Post trailed 12-2 at the break.
Early in the second, Deren cleared the ball after a turnover by the Chargers and scored for the second time. Levy added two late goals, including a free-position score in the closing minutes.
Sophomore
Dominique Woods (Hartford, Conn.), freshman
Natia Jones (Raleigh, N.C.) and Deren picked up three ground balls each to lead the team. Junior
Nicole Evans (Cortland, N.Y.) and Rodriguez won two draw controls.
Senior
Jessica Lavelle (Thurmont, Md.) made four saves and had two ground balls in her first-career start in goal.
Post returns home on Tuesday afternoon for a CACC contest against Georgian Court. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m.
