Naugatuck, Conn. – The Post University baseball team lost 11-0 to Nyack in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game on Monday evening.
With the loss, the Eagles are now 8-22 on the season and 3-7 in the CACC.
The Eagles recorded three hits in the game from freshmen
Andrew Avots (South Brunswick, N.J.) and
Shawn Boston (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and junior
Nick Grasso (Wyckoff, N.J.).
Post's pitching staff recorded 13 strikeouts, including four each by freshman
Tyler Kovalewich (Colonia, N.J.), and sophomores
Mike Calo (Watertown, Conn.) and
Ben Brown (Middlebury, Conn.).
Nyack scored two runs in the first on an RBI double from Christian Benitez and a sac fly from Ryan Kahl. They would tack on four more runs in the top of the third, including two on run scoring singles from Jesse Barton and Carlos Pino.
After the Warriors scored a run in the bottom the fourth, they scored their final four in the seventh, including a solo home run by Benitez.
Up next for the Eagles is a doubleheader at Felician on April 13 at 3 p.m.
