BLOOMFIELD, N.J. – The Post University softball team split a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) doubleheader with Bloomfield on Wednesday afternoon. Senior Kaitlin Iacomini (Pleasant Valley, N.Y.) drove all three runs in a 3-0 victory in the opener. The Eagles were defeated in game two 5-1.

Game One - Post 3, Bloomfield 0
Post was held hitless over the first three innings until senior Kayla Kresley (Alburtis, Pa.) and junior Erica Ragazzone (Philadelphia, Pa.) each singled with one out. Both were stranded after a strikeout and flyout ended the frame.

Junior Kathryn Dawson (Newfields, N.H.) hit a lead-off single in the fourth and advanced to third on sacrifice bunt. Classmate Kristin Owens (Exton, Pa.) followed with a walk and a stolen base as two Eagles were in scoring position with just one out. Iacomini put Post ahead with 2-0 with a single to centerfield.

The two runs were all that Post needed as senior Samantha Esque (Springfield, Pa.) tossed a five-hit shutout and struck out seven. She allowed just one hit after the third inning to pick up her seventh win of the year.

Iacomini hit a two-out RBI single in the seventh to extend the Eagles' lead.
