Shawn Boston (Brooklyn, N.Y.) homered and sophomore
Don Walsh (Hamilton, N.J.) went 3-for-5, but the Eagles dropped a non-conference game to American International College on Tuesday afternoon, 11-5.
The Eagles went up 5-0 to begin the game as a double by freshman Mike Munson (Plainville, Conn.) scored Walsh - who also doubled - to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead in the top of the third inning.
Post opened up the scoring in the fourth as Boston homered with one out. After sophomore
David Sarmiento (Miami, Fla.) was hit by a pitch and stole second, junior
Joey Picone (Washingtonville, N.Y.) doubled to left to score Sarmiento. Walsh followed with his second consecutive double, scoring Picone. The three runs chased starter Jason Coscio from the game. Dimitri Bryant came in relief and got the last two Post hitters to fly out.
The Eagles added one more run in the top of the fifth on a sacrifice fly from Boston that scored sophomore
Alex Wright (Butler, N.J.).
The Eagles pitching staff cruised through the first five innings, but got into trouble in the sixth inning as the Yellow Jackets scored nine runs. Chris Starcun drove in three runs in the inning, including a two run triple and an RBI single. Mike Coyne and Tyler Geffert both had RBI walks and Karl Kapinos was hit by a pitch to drive in a run.
AIC would add two more runs in the eighth on an RBI single from Starcun and an RBI double from Alex Lafayette.
