Luke McDermott (New Milford, Conn.) scored three times in the loss.
A slashing penalty by Saint Anselm early in the first quarter led to an extra-man opportunity for Post. Junior
Trevor Buchas (Bristol, Conn.) gave the Eagles a 1-0 lead as he beat the keeper for his 13
th goal of the year off a pass from freshman

Saint Anselm gained possession on the ensuing face-off but Post forced a turnover. Sophomore
Frank Nichols Jr. (Oceanside, Calif.) made the most of the Hawks' mistake as he rocketed a goal from the right side to put the Eagles in front 2-0 with 9:35 left in the opening quarter.
The Hawks tied the game with two quick goals. The Eagles had a chance to take a lead late in the period but a shot by Egan hit the post. Saint Anselm gained possession and scored to take a 3-2 lead at the end of the quarter.
Post allowed two goals to start the second as it trailed 5-2. McDermott scored his first of the day with 6:08 left in the half to cut the deficit to 5-3. Just over a minute later, junior
Jack Kearney (Sandy Hook, Conn.) picked up a groundball after a Hawks' turnover a took it the distance for his second goal of the year to make the score 5-4.
The Eagles were unable to draw any closer as Saint Anselm scored two to end the half and extended its advantage to 9-4 early in the third quarter. The Hawks scored eight times in the third to put the game away.

Colby Treat (Penn Yan, N.Y.).
Post was 2-for-4 on its extra-man opportunities on the afternoon. The Eagles grabbed 32 groundballs to the Hawks' 48. Junior

Matthew Palmieri (Waldwick, N.J.), and Treat each picked up a team-high five loose balls. Palmieri also had a game-high three caused turnovers.

The Eagles return to the field on Friday afternoon at home against Dominican. Opening face-off is set for 3:30 p.m.
