Post Drops Doubleheader To Mllersville

Millersville, Pa. - After driving in two runs in the first inning, the Post University baseball team dropped a doubleheader to No. 4 Millersvile, 11-2 and 5-0 on Saturday afternoon during a non-conference matchup.

In game one, Post jumped out to a 2-0 lead early one as sophoomore Don Walsh (Hamilton, N.J.( doubled to drive in a run, follwed by a fielder's choice from junior Andrew Tous (Flemington, N.J.).

However, Millersville drove in 11 unanswered runs, including four in the bottom of the fourth inning and four more in the bottom of the sixth to catapult them to the win. 

Jeremy Musser was 2-for-3 with three RBI as his three-run triple blew open the game for Millersville in the fourth inning and Mitch Stoltzfus was 3-for-4 four with three RBI as he hit two home runs; a solo shot in the left, followed by a two-run shot in the bottom of the sixth. 

Chas McCormick also tacked on two RBI as he had an RBI single in the bottom of the first followed by a fielder's choide in the sitxth.

Junior Matthew D'Ariano (Yonkers, N.Y.)  reeived the loss in game one as he pitched five innings, giving up seven runs on 10 hits and three walks to go along with four strikeouts. Anderson received the win, as he struck out six in six innings. 

In game two, sophomore Enzo Esposito (Hamilton, N.J.)  struck out five in a 5-0 loss. 

McCormick again led the way for the Marauaders with two RBI on a sac fly in the fourth and a ground out in the sixth.

Esposito pitched four innings, giving up four runs on five hits and five walks. Peterson got the win for MIllersville, striking out six and giving up just two hits. The Eagles had five singles as a team.

Up next for the Eagles (5-9) is a road game at Pace on March 15 at 3 p.m.
