Millersville, Pa. – Sophomore Alex Wright (Butler, N.J.) was 3-for-4 but it wasn't enough as the Post University Baseball team dropped a 2-0 pitchers' duel to College of Saint Rose on Friday afternoon.
 
The runs for Saint Rose came on a wild pitch in the top of the second and an RBI double by Nick Venier in the eighth inning.
 
The Eagles threatened in the bottom of the first as sophomore David Sarmiento (Miami, Fla.) reached third with one out after he was hit by a pitch to begin the inning. However, Saint Rose pitcher Nick Cioffi, retired the next two batters on strikeouts to end the threat. The Eagles were unable to get a runner further than second base the rest of the way.
 
Sophomore Nick Arnold (West Islip, N.Y.)  had the tough luck loss for the Eagles. He pitched a solid eight innings, giving up two earned runs on six hits with four strikeouts. Cioffi received the win, pitching eight innings of shutout ball giving up just seven hits and one walk while striking out seven.
 
Up next for the Eagles is a Saturday doubleheader at Millersville University beginning at 11 a.m.
