Men’s Basketball Falls At Home To Bloomfield, 78-64

Okros Leads Eagles With 18 Points, Five Rebounds

WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post University men's basketball team was defeated by Bloomfield 78-64 at home on Tuesday night in a battle between the top two teams in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division. The Eagles are now 12-10 overall and 8-7 in CACC play with just four games remaining.

Freshman Tamas Okros (Bristol, England) paced the Eagles with 18 points, five rebounds, and three assists. Sophomore Tyler Desrosiers (Agawam, Mass.) add 17 points and four boards.

Post scored the first five points out of the gate as senior Shay Agboola (Atlanta, Ga.) nailed a three followed by a layup from junior Malcolm Amos (Brookport, Ill.). The Bears answered back to take a 7-5 lead. Desrosiers and Okros each hit jumpers off assists from Agboola on Post's next two possessions as the teams traded leads and the Eagles pulled in front 12-11 with 13:37 remaining in the first half.

Nick Davidson, who finished with a game high 21 points, made a shot from long range next time down the court as Bloomfield pulled ahead for good. The Bears opened 26-15 lead from there with a 15-3 run. Post battled back to get within single-digits four times down the stretch of the first half, but trailed 39-29 at halftime.

The Eagles hit three of their first four shots to start the second half to close the deficit to 44-36 with 17:44 left and force a Bloomfield timeout. The Bears answered back as Claude Blue scored seven straight and made the score 54-38. Post trailed by as many as 22, but closed the game on a 9-1 run.

Agboola made his first start of the year and dropped 11 points, five rebounds, a block and a steal. Bloomfield held a 39-30 advantage on the glass, but Post had 13 offensive rebounds to the Bears' 10 boards.

Post makes the trip to Philadelphia on Saturday for a game against USciences. Tip-off is set for 3:30 p.m.
