Box Score PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Post University men's basketball team fell to USciences 76-64 on Saturday afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) road contest. With three games remaining, the Eagles hold the final North Division slot in the tournament.
Sophomore
Tyler Desrosiers (Agawam, Mass.) led Post with 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting and five rebounds. Senior
David Seymour (Amityville, N.Y.) added 10 points off the bench.
The first half was a series of runs by each team. The Eagles struck first as Desrosiers hit an early three to start a 10-0 run to begin the afternoon. Sophomore
Isaiah Kemp (Astoria, N.Y.) scored five points and grabbed a steal during the stretch. USciences stormed back with a run of its own, but Post was able to maintain the lead.
With the score 15-12 in favor of Post and 9:32 left in the first half, Desrosiers sparked another Eagles' run with a second-chance layup. Seymour forced a turnover on the other end and completed a three-point play as Post extended its advantage.
Sophomore
Matt Mareno (San Francisco, Calif.) nailed a three to give the Eagles their largest lead of the afternoon at 25-14 with 7:56 remaining. The Devils stormed back and trailed by one at halftime.
USciences took its first lead of the game early in the second half as it scored the first five point of the period. Junior
Malcolm Amos (Brookport, Ill.) hit a layup with 16:23 left to put the Eagles in front 35-34, but it would be the last lead for Post.
The Devils shot 72.0 percent in the second half as they led by as many as 24 points. Post tried to mount a comeback as it closed out the game on a 15-3 run but fell short.
The Eagles visit Nyack on Wednesday, Feb. 17. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
