NYACK, N.Y. – The Post University men's basketball team dropped its fourth-straight game on Wednesday night 81-71 at Nyack. The Eagles are 12-12 overall and 8-9 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play with two games remaining.
Sophomore
Tyler Desrosiers (Agawam, Mass.) made five three-pointers and led the Eagles with 18 points, five assists, and two steals. Freshman
Tamas Okros (Bristol, England) added 13 points and five boards.
After holding an early lead, Post found itself down 12-8 with 12:18 left in the first half. Out of a timeout, junior
Damani Ashton (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) nailed two free throws as the Eagles scored eight straight to grab a 16-12 advantage. Okros and Desrosiers each had six early points to help build the lead.
Nyack went on a 13-2 from there to pull ahead by seven and would lead by as many as nine points before the break.
Both teams shot over 60.0 percent in the second half and the Eagles were 14-of-17 inside the arc in the period, but were unable to chip away at the deficit. Post hit its last four shots and closed the game on a 9-3 run.
The Eagles held a 30-26 advantage on the glass led by senior
David Seymour (Amityville, N.Y.) who pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds.
Post returns home on Saturday for the final time this season as the Eagles host Concordia at 3 p.m.
