WEST HAVEN, Conn. – The Post University men's basketball team fell on the road to interstate rival New Haven, 64-52 in a non-conference tilt on Thursday night. Sophomore
Tamas Okros (Bristol, England) led the Eagles with 18 points on the evening. Junior
Joseph Lockwood (London, England) scored 11 points and had a team-high eight rebounds.
Post trailed by as many as 13 in the first half but a layup by junior
Naasir Williams (Harlem, N.Y.) cut the deficit 28-23 with 1:45 left as the Eagles went on a 9-2 run. The Chargers led by seven at the break. Post shot just 30.0 percent from the field and 22.2 percent from distance in the first half.
New Haven got out to a quick 8-4 spurt to begin the second half of play. Post was unable to climb back into the game and trailed by at least nine the rest of the way. Okros put up 11 points in the second half.
Junior
Levy Gillespie (Meriden, Conn.) added eight points off the bench in his first matchup against his former team.
After a week off for finals Post is back in action on Saturday, Dec. 18 against Concordia. Tip off at Drubner is set for 3 p.m.
