RICHMOND, Va. – The Post University men's basketball team picked up its first win of the season in the Holiday Inn I-64 West End Classic over Elizabeth City State on Sunday afternoon. The Eagles won 68-59 in overtime and junior guard
Tyler Desrosiers (Agawam, Mass.) was named to the all-tournament team. Post moved to 1-4 on the season and Elizabeth City State falls to 0-4.

Matt Mareno (San Francisco, Calif.) paced the Eagles with his second double-double of the season, 16 points and 12 rebounds. Junior
Joseph Lockwood (London, England) shot 50 percent from the field totaling eight points and eight rebounds.
Senior Malcom Amos Brookfield, Ill.) nearly recorded his first double-double of the season with nine points and seven boards, while junior
Tyler Desrosiers (Agawam, Mass.) add seven points and eight rebounds.
The Eagles did not trail in the first half of play. Mareno rocked the rim with a dunk for the first points of the game. Post stretched to nine after a pair of free throws by senior
Damani Ashton (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) with 3:10 to go. Mareno led the Eagles in the half with 12 points and eight rebounds.
After the break, Elizabeth City State jumped out to an 8-2 run giving itself its first lead of the ballgame. The Vikings led until the 14:03 mark when Lockwood hit a layup in the paint regain the lead for Post, 43-42. The Eagles scored 28 of their 68 points in the paint.
The game was tied with five seconds remaining, Elizabeth City State called timeout to set up a play for the win. After the timeout, Post used its two fouls to give, causing the Vikings to inbound the ball and force up an errant shot at the end of regulation.
In the extra session Post dominated play, winning the period 13-4 and ultimately the game 68-59. Lockwood and sophomore
Tamas Okros (Bristol, England) each had four points in overtime to lift the Eagles to victory.
Post University outscored the Vikings in second chance points (16-9), points off turnovers (12-9) and points in the paint (28-24). The Eagles finished the day shooting 80 percent from the free throw line.
The Eagles will travel to New Jersey to take on Central Athletic Collegiate Conference (CACC) foe Bloomfield on Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 7 p.m.
