WATHAM, Mass. – The Post University men's basketball team fell to Bentley 84-56 on Friday night at the Bentley Tip-Off Classic in Waltham, Mass.
Senior Malcom Amos (Brockport, Ill.) led Post with 17 points on Junior Nassir Williams (Bronx, N.Y) led Post with 13 points on 7-for-13 shooting. Senior
Joseph Lockwood (London, England) and junior
Tyler Desrosiers (Agawam, Mass.) also scored in double figures for the Eagles with 10 and 11 points, respectively.
Each team felt each other out for the first five minutes of the game before the Falcons went on a large 16-0 run putting Post on its heels in the early going. The run was briefly halted by an Amos jumper at the 10 minute mark of the first half. Turnovers hurt the Eagles in the half as they committed 10 in the period.
Post was able to keep its turnovers in check in the second and forced eight by Bentley, but was unable to draw closer as the Falcons lead swelled to as many as 29 points. A night after shooting just 41.2 percent from the line, the Eagles made six of their eight free throw attempts.
The Falcons shot 55 percent from the field and 13-of-21 from beyond the arc, recording 39 of their 84 points from three-point territory in the game. Kyle Bouchard led a very balanced attack for the Bentley Falcons with a team high 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting and 2-of-3 from the three point line.
The Eagles will open up the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) season at home against Dominican on Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m.
