Eagles Volleyball Flies by Goldey-Beacom 3-0

Post has won 14 of its last 15 matches

WILMINGTON, Del. – The Post University volleyball team continued to roll on Friday night with a 3-0 victory over Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) foe Goldey-Beacon. The Lightning proved to be no match for the Eagles as they rolled 25-11, 25-9, 25-15.

Senior Skylar German (Kansas City, Mo.) led the team with 11 kills and an outstanding .529 hitting percentage for the match. Hailey Griffin (Plainfield, Conn.) added eight kills of her own to go with 13 digs, nearly capturing her seventh double-double of the season.

The first set was tight in the early going before senior Morgan Griffin (Plainfield, Conn.) took over. Griffin recorded two kills and a block assist that sparked a 5-0 run to put the Eagles ahead for good.

Post jumped out to an early 10-1 lead and never looked back in the second set. German recorded a team high six kills as the Eagles held an opponent to single-digits for the second match in a row.

The third set was the closest of the night as Goldey-Beacom was down by just four before Post went on a 6-1 run. Sophomore Sarah Seger (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) capped the run off with back-to-back aces to give the Eagles an 18-10 lead. Morgan Griffin finished the Lightning off with her tenth kill of the evening.

The Eagles return to the court tomorrow afternoon at Wilmington in a rematch of last year's CACC semifinal which Post took 3-2. Opening serve is set for 1 p.m.
