Post Volleyball Wins Program-Record 11th Straight Match

Eagles defeat Dominican in three sets

ORANGEBURG, N.Y. – The Post University volleyball team won its 11th-consecutive match on Friday night with a 3-0 victory over Dominican in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division clash. The Eagles have won 21 of their last 22 matches.

Senior Skylar German (Kansas City, Mo.) led Post with 11 kills to go with nine digs, four blocks, and two service aces. Senior Hailey Griffin (Plainfield, Conn.) added nine kills and 15 digs. Junior Sarah Ryder (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) had a game-high 16 digs.

The first set was never in doubt and an ace from senior Morgan Griffin (Plainfield, Conn.) capped a 9-1 Eagles' run to open the match. After the Chargers narrowed the gap to just six points, Post rolled off eight straight to cruise to a 25-11 victory.

Dominican stuck around to begin the second set as the score was tied 8-8 early on. From there it was all Post as the Eagles erupted for a 13-3 run to pull away. German had three kills and a block as Post built a 21-11 lead and would go on to take the set 25-16.

The final set was the closest of the night as Dominican led 22-21, but the Eagles would score the final four points to come away with the match. Hailey Griffin bookended the final run with two kills.

Post looks to continue its run on Saturday at home against Holy Family. Game time at Drubner is set for 2 p.m.
