PHILADELPHIA, Pa.- Post Volleyball headed down to Philadelphia to take on the University of the Sciences and came away victorious in its effort three sets to none. Post is now 12-1 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) and 20-3 overall while USciences falls to 5-11 overall and 4-9 in conference play.
It was a quality team effort for the Eagles as senior
Skylar German (Kansas City, Mo.) led the way with 12 kills.
Morgan Griffin (Plainfield, Conn.) had the team lead with three aces and three blocks to go with 10 kills. Sophomore
Brianna Root (Bristol, Conn.) put up 33 assists and junior
Sarah Ryder had added 17 digs. Â
In the first set USciences scored the first point of the match, however after that points were tough to come by. Post had a 9-8 lead and then kicked it into second gear as it pulled off a 9-2 run extending its lead to a comfortable margin, 18-10. A pair of errors rewarded Post with the first set victory, 25-16
The Eagles came out of the gates quickly in the second set with a quick 6-2 advantage. Post, with the help of six Devil errors throughout the set yet again came out victorious 25-17.
Post dominated the third set from start to finish. Senior
Nicole Brown (Queens, N.Y.) added two of her four kills in the third aiding the Eagles in their push towards their second 10 game win streak this season. In the set freshman
Shannon Veale (Toms River, N.J.) also added a kill of her own, her 20
th on the year.
The Eagles' next match will be on Friday, Octo.28 at Dominican at 7pm.
