Eagles Dismantle Concordia For Ninth Straight Win

Post visits USciences on Saturday

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Post University women's volleyball team won its ninth straight match on Wednesday night 3-0 over Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) for Concordia. Post is now 11-1 in the CACC and 19-3 overall.

Paving the way toward victory for the Eagles was senior Skylar German (Kansas City, Mo) who had 12 kills, nine digs, three blocks and three aces. She was also second on the team with 12 kills. Classmate Morgan Griffin (Plainfield, Conn.) led the team with 13 kills Sophomore Brianna Root (Bristol, Conn.) added 46 assists. 

In the first set Post came out victorious 25-19 benefitting from seven Concordia errors. A block by German and senior Hailey Griffin (Plainfield, Conn.) gave the Eagles a 19-11 lead. Concordia cut the deficit to just six, but the Eagles prevailed.

The Eagles jumped in front early in the second set and never looked back. Post had its largest lead of the set at 15-6 after two kills and a block from Morgan Griffin. Four errors down the stretch by the Clippers gave Post a 25-17 win.

Morgan Griffin dominated the third set with five kills to lead the Eagles to a 25-16 victory. The Griffin sisters combined for six kills as part a of 7-1 run midway through the set.

Post will look to capture its second ten match winning streak of the season on Saturday at USciences. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
