WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post University men's basketball team lost its second-straight Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game 68-61 to Goldey-Beacom on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles fall to 8-6 overall and 4-3 in conference play.
Post found itself down 62-53 with 3:33 remaining in the game after the Lightning made a pair of free throws. Freshman
Tamas Okros (Bristol, England) intercepted a pass to give the Eagles the ball and junior
Malcolm Amos (Brookport, Ill.) nailed a jumper, sparking a 6-0 run.

Adnan Halilovich (Mali Zvornik, Serbia) hit a free throw to cut the deficit to 62-56 with 2:33 left. After misses on both sides, Post locked down on defense and forced a shot clock violation. Senior
David Seymour (Amityville, N.Y.) was fouled attempting a three and made the ensuing free-throws to make the score 62-59 with 1:00 left. Post was unable to draw any closer.
The Eagles got off to a good start as they went up 4-0 early, but it was their only lead of the game as they battled from behind most of the afternoon. Post used an 8-0 run midway through the first half to cut a 26-15 deficit down to just three points. Halilovich had four points and an assist during the stretch as he finished with a career-high 10 points and 7 boards.
Goldey-Beacom's Sameen Swint nailed a three in the closing seconds of the first half, but Desrosiers answered with one of his own on the other end as Post trailed by just two at 35-33 at halftime.
Amos led the Eagles with 14 points to go with four rebounds. Desrosiers added 11 points, five rebounds and four assists. Seymour scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds off the bench. Post held a slim 41-38 rebounding advantage.
Post looks to get back on track on Tuesday as it visits Wilmington for a CACC contest. Game time is set for 8 p.m.
