LAKEWOOD, N.J. – The Post University men's basketball team shot an impressive 64.0 percent from the field on its way to an 84-50 win at Georgian Court on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles were 32-of-50 from the floor, the second-best shooting performance in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game since 2008.
The game was close for the first five minutes as the Eagles led by just one at 11-10. Junior
Malcolm Amos (Brookport, Ill.) completed a three-point play for Post to start a 21-2 blitz that gave the Eagles a 32-12 advantage with 7:22 to play. Amos was 7-for-8 from the field. He scored 17 points to go with eight assists and four rebounds.
Post missed just two shots the rest of the half as it built a 48-24 at halftime.
The second half was much of the same as the Eagles led by as many as 40 points on their way to their second straight win.
Sophomore
Matt Mareno (San Francisco, Calif.) led Post with 19 points. He added five rebounds, a block and a steal. Classmate
Tyler Desrosiers (Agawam, Mass.) put up 10 points and four assists.
The Eagles made 15 three-pointers, their most since hitting 16 against Georgian Court in 2014.
Post returns to Drubner on Wednesday night against Felician. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
