Preview: Eagles Set To Open Home Schedule

Look To Get First Win

Waterbury, Conn. - The Post University women's soccer team will open up its home schedule as it takes on Pace University in an out of conference matchup at noon on Saturday at LaMoy Field.

The Eagles are coming off of a loss in their first game of the season, a 2-1 decision by the hands of New York Institute of Technology. In that game, junior Sylvia Yanez (West Haven, Conn.) scored the lone goal for the Eagles in the 17th minute.

Friendly Confines

The Eagles were stellar at LaMoy Field last season, going 6-1-1. Their lone regular season loss was in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship game to Philadelphia.

Post outscored opponents during the regular season at LaMoy Field, 20-8, scoring five goals twice in a game (Caldwell and Goldey-Beacom).

Preseason Prognostications

The Eagles were picked to finish fourth this season in the CACC preseason poll. They received 130 points and one first place vote.

Defending champion Philadelphia was picked to win the conference, followed by Holy Family and Georgian Court.

About Pace

The Pace Setters are coming off of an 11-10 campaign last year where they finished 8-6 in the Northeast-10 conference, good enough for seventh place. Pace defeated Post in the first round of the ECAC tournament, 4-0. They were then eliminated by Adelphi. The Setters won their first game of this season, 3-0 against Queens.
