CALDWELL, N.J. – The Post University men's soccer team snapped its two game losing streak on Tuesday with a 3-0 road victory over Caldwell. The Eagles improve to 3-4 on the year and 2-2 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play.
Post controlled the first half as the Eagles outshot Caldwell 12-2. Senior
Tiago Martins (Lamas de Olo, Portugal) connected on a shot off a pass from classmate
Francisco Sastre (Sao Paolo, Brazil) that went through the hands of the Caldwell keeper to put the Eagles in front 1-0 in the 31
st minute.
In the second half, graduate student
Anthony Asante (Bronx, N.Y.) added to the lead with a score off a cross from sophomore
David Ortiz Correa (Envigado, Colombia).
Asante buried a shot from 10-yards out on an assist from Martins in the 86
th minute for the final margin.
The Eagles didn't allow a shot in the second half and held an 18-2 advantage on the day. Junior goalkeeper
Jon Hanlon (Centereach, N.Y.) made two saves to earn the shutout in his first start of the season.
Post returns to action on Saturday on the road at Goldey-Beacom. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
