WATERBURY, Conn. – Sophomore
Stefan Tomasevic (London, England) headed in a corner kick off the foot of senior
Francisco Sastre (Sao Paolo, Brazil) in the 73
rd minute to provide the difference as the Post men's soccer team defeated Philadelphia at LaMoy Field on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles improve to 2-2 overall and 1-0 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play.
Sastre launched the corner to a crowd on the far side of the goal. Tomasevic got a piece of the ball and redirected it to the top corner of the goal for the winner.
"I'm very excited for guys because we played three extremely difficult matches against NE-10 opponents to start the year and that help prepare us for this game. We grew as a team and matured after dealing with some tough conditions," said head coach

Anthony Asante (Bronx, N.Y.) was taken down trying to take a shot in the box in the 29
th minute and was awarded a penalty kick. He beat the Ram's keeper Ben Sauer on the penalty to put the Eagles ahead 1-0. Post would take the advantage into the half.
Philadelphia (2-1-1, 0-1 CACC) tied the game in the 56
th minute on a penalty kick of their own after an Eagles foul.
The Rams outshot Post 11-8 overall on the day, but the Eagles held a 5-3 advantage in shots on goal. Asante led Post with three shots. Junior
Serigne Baba Gaye (Dakar, Senegal) made two saves in goal.
The Eagles return to action Wednesday at home against Concordia. Game time is set for 3 p.m.
