Waterbury, Conn. - The Post University women's soccer team will look to exact some revenge at the end of last season as it takes on defending Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference champion, Philadelphia at LaMoy Field on Saturday. Game time is set for noon.
The Eagles, 0-3, are coming off of a 2-1 loss to Southern New Hampshire on Wednesday.
During that game, sophomore Katharina Mertz (Buxtehude, Germany) scored for the Eagles in the 60th minute to make it a one goal game after Post went down 2-0.
Post had chances to score in the final minutes as Mertz and junior Sylvia Yanez (West Haven, Conn.) put shots on goal, but were stopped by goalkeeper Autumn Scanlon.
About the Rams
Last season, the Eagles lost in the CACC championship - and a shot at an NCAA tournament berth - as they lost 3-0 to the Rams at LaMoy Field.
This season, the Rams are 1-1 to begin the season and 0-1 in the CACC. They were picked to repeat as champions in the preseason coaches poll. The Eagles were picked to finish fourth.
The Rams returned senior Carla Chmielewski, an All-CACC first team member last season. She also led the Rams in points (16) and goals (7).
