Erik Rodriguez (Miami, Fla.) hit a sac fly to score Pastor as the Eagles two-run 11
th gave them a 3-2 win in game two of a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference doubleheader against Chestnut Hill on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles dropped game one, 7-0.
With the split, the Eagles are now 18-15 overall and 13-5 in the CACC. They would currently be the No. 3 seed in the CACC tournament. If they sweep first-place Wilmington on April 28, they will then become the No. 2 seed and receive a first-round bye.
In the game two win, the Eagles got on the board first with a two-run single from junior
Brian McKenna (New York, N.Y.) to score sophomore
Drew Deangelis (Robbinsville, N.J.) in the top of the third. That would be the only run the Eagles would get off of starter Zachary Crim, who pitched ten innings and struck out nine for the Griffins.
Chestnut Hill would tie the game in the seventh on an RBI single by McLaughlin off of junior
Alex Johnson (Bethel, Conn.), who came in for relief in the sixth for starting grad student,
Mike Costello (Manassas, Va.).
Costello pitched five scoreless innings, giving up just two hits and striking out three.
The game would stay tied, 1-1 until the 11
th as Picone singled off of reliever Manzella with one out before Pastor tripled him home. Rodriguez would immediately follow with a sac fly to right to score Pastor.
The sacrifice fly would loom important as the Griffins scored one run in the bottom half of the inning off of freshman
Nick Arnold (West Islip, N.Y.) as Patrick
Campion drove home Brandon DiBona with two outs in the inning with a single. However, the next batter, Joseph Monaghan would pop up to short to end the game.
Arnold was credited with the win and is 2-0 on the season. He pitched four innings, giving up three hits and one run while striking out four.

In game one, the Eagles were no-hit by Dominic Raia III for the first 7.1 innings before junior
Jeff Thoburn (Saint-Lazare, Quebec) singled to give them their lone hit of the game in the 7-0 loss.
The Griffins scored four runs in the bottom of the fourth capped by a two-run double by Campion to give the Griffins a lead they would never relinquish. They would score two more runs in the fifth and one more in the eighth inning.
Post starter
Don Crook (Meriden, Conn.) pitched 4.2 innings, giving up six earned runs on two walks while striking out four.
Raia finished with a complete game, giving up just one hit and two walks while striking out nine.
