Eagles Fall At Home To Dominican, 15-5

Baez Leads With Three Goals

WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post University women's lacrosse team was tied with Dominican 4-4 at the half on Sunday afternoon, but was unable to get anything going in the second half as the Eagles fell 15-5.

Goalkeeper Kathy Walker (Dorchester, Mass.) made one of her 15 saves and found senior Eryka Baez (Clifton, N.J.) early in the first half. Baez took the ball the distance and put the Eagles in front 1-0. Minutes later, after a turnover by the Chargers, senior Miranda Polaski (Agawam, Mass.) scored her first of two goals on the day.

Dominican came back to tie the game 2-2 with 16:41 left in the half. The Chargers earned two yellow cards to give Post a two-man advantage which Baez converted on to put the Eagles back in front 3-2 with 7:13 left. Polaski scored off a turnover as time expired in the first to make the score 4-4.

Freshman Sam Rodriguez (Wayne, N.J.) hit a cutting Baez for a one-timer in front of the net for Post's only goal of the second half.

Polaski led the Eagles with seven ground balls and five draw controls. Rodriguez added three ground balls.

Post returns home on Thursday, April 16 against Southern Connecticut. Game time at LaMoy Field is set for 3 p.m.
