Eagles Shutout Nyack

Enderle Throws Seven Scoreless Innings

Lantana, Fla. - Sophomore Joseph Enderle (Hicksville, N.Y.)  pitched seven phenomenal innings and junior Mick Terzi (Wallingford, Conn.) pitch two scoreless innings to close out a 1-0 game against Nyack to win the second game of a doubleheader. The Eagles beat LIU-Post earlier in the day.

The Eagles now improve to 4-6 on the season.

Freshman Brendon Emigholz (West Islip, N.Y.) provided all the offense the Eagles needed as his RBI single in the bottom of the second scoring freshman Trey Fitzgerald (Jupiter, Fla.) gave the Eagles a 1-0 lead.

Fitzgerald finished the day going 2-for-3, including a double. Classmate Alex Wright (Butler, N.J.) also picked up two hits on the day.

However, the story was Enderle, who pitched seven scoreless innings, giving up just three hits and two walks while striking out four.

Terzi closed the game, not allowing a baserunner for two innings and striking out one.

Nyack's Craig Jacobs, who picked up the loss, also had a solid outing, giving up one run on five hits, while striking out four.

Up next for the Eagles is a doubleheader against Stonehill in Lantana, Fla.
