Post Women’s Lacrosse Falls To Philadelphia

Young and Polaski Score Twice



PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Post University women's lacrosse team was defeated by Philadelphia 18-5 on Monday afternoon. Senior Miranda Polaski (Agawam, Mass.) and sophomore Shannon Young (Centereach, N.Y.) each scored twice for the Eagles.
 
Young scored her 10th goal of the season with 27:49 left in the first half to tie the game 1-1 early on. Post managed just four shots in the first quarter as it fell behind 11-1 at the half.
 
Polaski scored twice in the second half and also grabbed a team-high four ground balls. She is now seventh among active NCAA players in career ground balls. Young and senior Eryka Baez (Clifton, N.J.) each added late free-position goals.
 
Graduate goalkeeper Kathy Walker (Dorchester, Mass.) made 15 saves. She leads all active NCAA keepers at 14.0 saves per game. Polaski and junior Nicole Maggio (Hicksville, N.Y.) each had two caused turnovers.
 
Post returns to action on Wednesday, March 25 at Nyack. Game time is set for 3 p.m.
