Walsh Hits Two Home Runs In Loss To Lynn

Freshman Goes 5-5 With Six RBI

LANTANA, Fla. – Freshman Don Walsh (Hamilton, N.J.) had five hits, including two home runs, and six RBI but it was not enough as the Post baseball team fell to #11 Lynn 11-8 on Sunday afternoon. The Eagles fall to 2-4 on the early season.

Lynn got on the board with two runs in each of the first two innings to go ahead 4-0. Post loaded the bases with one out in top of the third inning after a walk and two errors. Walsh smashed a grand slam to right center to tie the score 4-4.

The tie didn't last long as the Fighting Knights put up three runs in the bottom of the inning. Neither team was able to advance a runner past first over the next two innings. Walsh led off the six inning with a solo shot that cut the lead to 7-5. Post put two more on base in the inning but were unable to push across a run.

Lynn scored twice in the seven and eighth make the score 11-5. Juniors Brian McKenna (New York, N.Y.) singled and Erik Rodriguez (Miami, Fla.) walked to put two on with two outs in the ninth. Walsh drove in his sixth run of the game with a double to left center. Senior Dylan Pastor (Hewlett, N.Y.) singled to right to bring home the final two runs.

Post is back in action on Tuesday against Felician. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
