Eagles Drop Game To Lynn

Crook Strikes Out Five

Lantana, Fla. - Six solid innings by starter Don Crook (Meriden, Conn.) wasn't enough as the Post University baseball team dropped a 3-1 decision to Lynn University on Saturday afternoon.

Crook, a senior, fell to 1-1 on the season. He gave up three earned runs on five hits with five strikeouts in six innings.

It was a pitchers' duel until the fourth inning when Lynn got on the board with a sacrifice fly and a bases loaded hit by pitch by Alex DeBellis and Kyle Schindler, respectively. Matt Tietz would add an RBI double in the top of the fifth for Lynn to give it the 3-0 lead.

The Eagles lone run came on a passed ball in the fifth inning, which scored sophomore Drew Deangelis (Robbinsville, N.J.).

Junior Max Watt (4-0) received the win for Lynn, striking out 10 in six innings pitched and giving up one earned run.
