Men’s Tennis Falls To Queens In Opener

Tadros and Fanous Earn Doubles Win

FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Post University men's tennis team lost its season-opener 8-1 at regionally-ranked Queens on Sunday afternoon. The Eagles fall to 0-1 on the year.

Post earned its only point of the day in doubles. The team of juniors Nicholas Tadros (Montreal, Quebec) and Peter Fanous (Cairo, Egypt) defeated Federico Toscano and Sharvill Nawghre 8-5 in the second spot.

In singles action. Fanous dropped his first set against Lucas Martinez 6-4 before taking set two by the same score. Martinez won the point on the third set tiebreaker. Junior Vladyslav Dyenyezhka (Kharkiv, Ukraine) took the first set 7-6 (5-6) before falling 6-2, 8-6 in the final two sets.

The Eagles return to the court on Sunday, Feb. 22 on the road at ASA College in Brooklyn, N.Y. First serve is set for 10 a.m.
