WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post University men's basketball team defeated New Haven 73-67 on Sunday afternoon in a non-conference game at the Drubner Center. Post is now 7-4 on the season and has won three of its last four games.
Early on it didn't look good for Post as New Haven couldn't miss. The Chargers shot 74.9 percent over the first nine minutes of the game and jumped in front 23-9 with 11:51 left in the half. The Eagles locked down on defense and rolled off an 11-0 run to pull within three points. Senior

Tamas Okros (Bristol, England) for a three-pointer with 2:24 left in the half to give the Eagles their first lead of the game at 29-28. New Haven would make two last baskets and lead 32-29 at halftime.
Tommy Hunt hit three-pointers on back-to-back possessions early for New Haven and the Chargers pulled in front 42-37 to start the second half. Sophomore

Jah'sheme Ringgold (Easton, Md.) tied the game 42-42 with 13:32 left as he nailed a jumper from deep. On Post's next possession, Ringgold came down with the rebound off his own miss and kicked it out to junior
Damani Ashton (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) for a three to give Post the lead for good.
New Haven's last chance game with 1:25 left as the Chargers were down 66-60. Michael Bourke made a three and was fouled. He made the free-throw to pull the visitors within two, but the Eagles shot 7-of-8 from the over the final minutes to grab the victory.
Every player for the Eagles scored on the day, led by Lockwood with 12 points. Ringgold added 11 points. Okros scored seven points and grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds. Freshman
Adnan Halilovich (Mali Zvornik, Serbia) added eight points and two rebounds off the bench.
The Eagles are off until Thursday, December 31 as they host Pace. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
