RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The Post University men's basketball team improved to 3-0 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play on Wednesday night with a 71-69 road victory over Felician. Senior
Shay Agboola (Atlanta, Ga.) scored 20 points and added 10 rebounds off the bench for his first double-double of the year.
Post led by six points early in the first half after a jumper by sophomore
Tyler Desrosiers (Agawam, Mass.) made the score 10-4. Felician took the lead for the first time midway through the half, but a three-pointer by Desrosiers gave the Eagles a 21-20 lead with 5:03 left in the period. The Golden Falcons outscored Post 10-1 the rest of the way and took a 30-22 lead into the break.
The Eagles were 4-of-5 from distance to start the second half and a three by freshman
Tamas Okros (Bristol, England) put them ahead 34-32 with 17:32 remaining. Felician answered with eight straight points from there, but Post battled back to tie the score 41-41 with 13:47 left.
The teams traded leads from there with neither going ahead by more than four points. With the score tied at 54-54 and 5:39 left in the game, senior
David Seymour (Amityville, N.Y.) rolled off a 6-0 run on his own to put Post in front for good.
Jamal Reid hit a three with two seconds left to pull the Golden Falcons within one point late. Desrosiers went 1-for-2 from the line on the other end and Felician missed a buzzer beater as the Eagles took home the 71-69 victory.
Seymour scored all 11 of his points in the second half and also had 10 rebounds. Desrosiers was 7-of-10 from the floor and led Post with 22 points. Okros added 10 points for the Eagles. Post made eight threes in the second half and shot 61.5 percent from distance in the half.
Post opens a six-game homestand on Tuesday, Dec. 8 against Caldwell. Tip-off at Drubner is set for 7:30 p.m.
