WATERBURY, Conn. – Two three point attempts by the Post University men's basketball team in the final seconds fell short as the Eagles were defeated at home by Dominican 77-74 on Saturday afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference matchup. The loss is the Eagles' first conference defeat of the season as they now stand at 6-4 overall and 4-1 in the CACC.
Sophomore
Jah'sheme Ringgold (Easton, Md.) found a wide open sophomore
Joseph Lockwood (London, England) for an easy layup with 17 seconds left in the game to cut the deficit to 76-74. The Chargers made one of two free throws on the other end and senior
Shay Agboola (Atlanta, Ga.) controlled the rebound for the Eagles.
Ringgold tried a three-pointer from the top of the key with six ticks left but hit the front rim as freshman
Tamas Okros (Bristol, England) came down with the offensive board. Okros quickly kicked the ball out to an open Agboola in front of the Eagles' bench, but his attempted rimmed out as buzzer sounded.
In a game that featured 23 lead changes and 11 ties, neither team led by more than five points the entire day. Dominican grabbed an early 9-6 lead, but Post answered with six straight points, four by junior

Post held the lead for the next four minutes until Dominican grabbed it back with 10:02 left after an Eagle's turnover. The lead changed hands on almost every possession through the middle of the half and Post took a 37-35 advantage with 2:01 left after three made free-throws by sophomore
Tyler Desrosiers (Agawam, Mass.). Dominican went ahead next time down the court and took a 39-37 lead into the half.
The Eagles scored the first seven points of the second half and after a layup by senior
David Seymour (Amityville, N.Y.) jumped in front 44-39. The final half would go the same as the first with neither team gaining control.
With the score tied 54-54, Dominican's Joe Clinton scored five consecutive points to put the Chargers in front by five with 9:45 left, their largest lead of the game. The Eagles jumped ahead once more before Dominican grabbed the lead for the final time.
Five Eagles finished in double-figures led by Ringgold with 17 points off the bench. Desrosiers added 15 points. Lockwood scored 13 points and grabbed a game-high seven rebounds.
