WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post University women's volleyball team advanced to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Semifinals on Tuesday with a 3-0 win over Holy Family at the Drubner Center. This marks the second year in a row the Eagles have advanced past the first round.
The first set was close from start to finish and featured seven ties and four lead changes. With the scored tied at 19, junior
Skylar German (Kansas City, Mo.) smashed a kill and the Tigers made an error the next ball to give the Eagles a 21-19 lead and force a Holy Family timeout. The Eagles scored the final four points of the set to go up 1-0.
Post used a 6-1 run near the start of the second set to open a 10-5 lead. Senior
Hailey Griffin (Plainfield, Conn.) had two of her team-high nine kills during the run. Holy Family cut the deficit to 16-13, but the Eagles scored nine of the final 10 points and took the set 25-14.
Griffin had two aces in the third set to help Post build a 15-8 lead. After a point by the Tigers, junior

Kristine Ripson (Youngstown, N.Y.) launched kills to give the Eagles their largest lead of the set at 17-9. Holy Family would make it interesting as it used a 10-4 run to pull within two at 21-19. The teams traded points until a kill by junior
Nicole Brown (Queens, N.Y.) and ace by senior
Janiellee Alvarez (Norwich, Conn.) ended the match 25-22.
Hailey Griffin and Ripson each notched nine kills on the night, while Griffin also added a team-high 10 digs and two aces. Freshman
Brianna Root (Bristol, Conn.) put up 31 assists and nine digs.
The Eagles head to Georgian Court in Lakewood, N.J. for the CACC Semifinals where they will matchup with the South's second-seed Wilmington on Friday, Nov. 20 at 1 p.m.
