Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Moura Leads Eagles Past Holy Family

Scores First Goal Of The Season

Waterbury, Conn. – Redshirt Senior Raphael Moura (Danbury, Conn.) had a goal and an assist as the Post University men's soccer team defeated Holy Family, 3-1 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game.

The win puts the Eagles at 5-4 overall and 3-2 in the CACC. Holy Family falls to 1-8 overall and 1-4 in the CACC.

The Eagles got on the board early as sophomore Stefan Tomasevic (London, England) scored his third goal of the season on a shot inside the box to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute.

Post's lead didn't last long as Holy Family's Christopher Tracey took a shot from 10 yards out to beat goalkeeper Jon Hanlon to tie the game up. It would be the only shot the Eagles allowed all game.

Post had countless opportunities throughout the half and finally broke through again in the 43rd minute as Moura put a header into the back of the net off of a corner from redshirt sophomore Armando Filho (Cataguases, Brazil) for his first goal of the season.

The Eagles went into the second half up 2-1 and continued to put the pressure on the Tigers throughout the second as Tiago Martins put in a goal – after a pass from Moura - past Dylan Rutledge in the 86th minute for the game's final goal.

Post outshot the Tigers, 23-1.

Up next for Post is an out-of-conference road game at Franklin Pierce at 7 p.m.
