Post Drops CACC Match To Georgian Court

Lions Score Two Second Half Goals

Lakewood, N.J. - The Post University women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 game to Georgian Court in a Central Atlantic Collegiate game on Saturday afternoon.

With the loss, the Eagles move to 8-6-1 overall and 8-2-1 in the CACC. Georgian Court - who is in first place in the CACC - is 12-2-2 overall and 9-0-1 in the CACC.

The two teams played to a scoreless first half with the Lions out shooting the Eagles 6-2 in the half. The Eagles had just one shot on goal in the half, which was by junior Sylvia Yanez (West Haven, Conn.).

In the second half, Georgian Court scored quickly as Tori Capestro took a shot from the 18 on a cross from Lizzy Kroon to give the Lions the 1-0 lead in the 48th minute.

Capestro added her second goal of the game - and sixth of the season - taking a pass from Megan Hubbard from 25 yards out and putting it past senior goalkeeper Laura Morgan (Brush Prairie, Wash.) to give the Lions the 2-0 lead in the 70th minute.

Post was unable to take any shots in the second half.

"Georgian Court is an excellent team that deserved to win today," coach Matt Micros said. Full credit to them. It wasn't so much of us not playing well as them playing well. Our focus remains on trying to get a home game in the first round of the [CACC] playoffs."

Up next for the Eagles is their final regular season game as they take on Bloomfield at LaMoy Field on October 28 at 3 p.m. It will also be senior day for the Eagles.
