After halftime, however, the Eagles were able to get on the board as freshman
Jen van Alphen (Hudson, N.Y.) crossed from the left side to find sophomore
Katharina Mertz (Buxtehude, Germany) in the 58th minute to tie the game, 1-1.
The final 32 minutes of regulation remained scoreless, but it didn't take long for the Eagles to finish the job as Carroll intercepted a pass from 30 yards out and took a shot from 20 yards out to beat Williams for the game winner in the 92nd minute.
Coach
Matt Micros said the team got it together in the second half. "I thought we came out a little flat today, and dug ourselves a hole," Micros said. "But in the second half we matched Wilmington's intensity and were able to battle back. Our defense was solid today. Great win for the girls on the road."
Senior
Laura Morgan (Brush Prairie, Wash.) finished with three saves on the day. Williams finished with seven saves for the Wildcats.
The Eagles have only lost once in their last ten games.
Up next for Post is an out of conference home game against Franklin Pierce on Oct. 22. Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
