LAKEWOOD, N.J. – The Post University volleyball team was defeated by Georgian Court and Pace in a tri-match Saturday afternoon in Lakewood, N.J. The Eagles fell to the Lions 3-1 to open the day and the Setters 3-0 in their second match.
Against Georgian Court, Post won the first set 27-25 before dropping the final three 25-21, 25-22, and 25-23. Senior
Hailey Griffin (Plainfield, Conn.) had 12 kills, two blocks, and 15 digs against the Lions. Freshman
Sarah Seger (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) added 11 kills. Freshman
Brianna Root (Bristol, Conn.) put up 43 assists. Senior
Janiellee Alvarez (Norwich, Conn.) recorded 23 digs and had an ace. Junior
Morgan Griffin (Plainfield, Conn.) added six kills and 19 digs.
Pace defeated the Eagles by scores of 25-18, 25-16, and 25-18.
Morgan Griffin led the Eagles with seven kills, four service aces, and 14 digs. Alvarez added an ace and 11 digs. Root had three kills and 24 aces.
The Eagles now sit at 14-7 overall and 7-2 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play. Post will host Dominican on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
