WATERBURY, Conn. –The Post University women's volleyball team will look to improve play on the road in two non-conference games as the Eagles travel to Springfield, Mass. and face off against American International College on Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 7 p.m. Post will take on Stonehill College in North Easton, Mass. on Friday, Sept. 26 at 5 p.m. The Eagles will host Chestnut Hill College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) matchup at the Drubner Center scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 27. First serve is set for 12 p.m.

Scouting the OppositionThus far, American International is 3-9 overall on the season just having recently hosted the AIC Yellow Jacket Invitational, losing three of four in the tournament. AIC was picked to finish eighth in the 2014 Northeast-10 Preseason Coaches' Poll. Stonehill was picked two spots above AIC to finish sixth in the same conference. The Stonehill Skyhawks are 7-3 on the season but riding a two game skid as of late. According to the 2014 CACC Preseason Poll, Chestnut Hill was picked to finish fifth in the South Division. The Griffins are 7-6 on the season and have played to a 2-1 record in the CACC.

All-Time Series vs. American InternationalAmerican International has the advantage in the series history as Post has recorded two victories in six meetings. The Eagles will do well to come away with a victory on Tuesday against the Yellow Jackets.

Skylar German has been named the CACC Player of the Week. She is the first Eagle to earn the honor since 2007. This year, German leads the Eagles in kills (88), hitting percentage (.414), service aces (11), and total blocks (26). She is also in the top five in the conference in all four categories. In Post's victory over Clark Atlanta on Sept. 13 she recorded the second-highest hitting percentage in CACC history at .800 (12 kills, 15 attacks, 0 errors).

Approaching MilestonesJulia Slyaktina enters the week with 1,924 assists in her career, good for fourth all-time. She is just one of four players to record over 1,000 career assists and just 419 assists away from Desere Obregon for third place all-time. The senior recorded 753 assists a year ago.Â
Emily Wilman could become just the third player to join the 1,000 kill-1,000 dig club this season. She sits 165 kills and 97 digs away from the milestone.

Preseason PrognosticationsThe Post volleyball team was picked to finish fifth in the CACC North Division in the Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Eagles earned 47 points, just two behind fourth-place Bloomfield. Caldwell and Wilmington were picked atop the North and South Divisions, respectively.

On The HorizonThe action continues in the following week when the Eagles play three important CACC games. Post will host Dominican College at the Drubner Center on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. The Eagles will travel to Bronxville, N.Y. to take on Concordia College scheduled Friday, Oct. 3 at 6 p.m. The Eagles will fly back to the Drubner Center to host Georgian Court University on Saturday, Oct. 4 at 12 p.m.
