Men’s Tennis Sets Program Record With Fourth Straight Victory

Eagles Defeat Caldwell At Home 5-4

MIDDLEBURY, Conn. – The Post University men's tennis team won its fourth game in a row on Wednesday to set a program record, defeating Caldwell 5-4 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match at Edgewood Bath and Tennis.
 
The Eagles (5-7, 2-1 CACC) came out with two points in doubles. Junior Nicholas Tadros (Montreal, Quebec) teamed with sophomore Peter Fanous (Cairo, Egypt) to beat Hugo Castalan and Christopher Long, 8-4 at the number two spot. The second point came at number three doubles. Junior Jonathyn Young (Norwalk, Conn.) and freshman Tyler Ruefenacht (Sandy Hook, Conn.) beat Al Navas and Michael Bayawa 8-3.
 
In singles, the Eagles earned three points to claim their second conference win this season. Sophomore David Narovec (Linz, Austria) claimed the third point of the day beating Christopher Long 6-0, 6-2 at the number four spot. Ruefenacht beat Al Navas 6-2, 6-3 at number five, while senior Danny Bonamassa (Staten Island, NY) claimed fifth point of the day winning the first set 6-2 before Bayawa retired in the second set with the score tied 6-6 (6-6).
 
The Eagles host Stonehill on Sunday, April 6 in a non-conference game at Edgewood Bath and Tennis. First serve set for 1 p.m.
