MIDDLEBURY, Conn. – The Post University men's tennis team earned their sixth win of the season, tying school record for most wins in a season defeating American International 6-3 on Wednesday afternoon, at Edgewood Bath and Tennis.
The Eagles (6-8) came out with two points from doubles play. Sophomore
Jonathyn Young (Norwalk, Conn.) and freshmen
Tyler Ruefenacht (Sandy Hook, Conn.) swept their match at number three 8-0. Junior
Nicholas Tadros (Montreal, Quebec) and sophomore
Peter Fanous (Cairo, Egypt) won their doubles 8-4 at the number two spot..
In singles action, the Eagles claimed won four out of six points. At number two, Fanous beat Boris Tiberkov 6-4, 6-0, while Reufenacht cruised over Jason Popek 6-0, 6-1 at number five. Freshmen
Alejandro Perez (Colombia) earned his tenth win of the season defeating Gustavo Franceli 6-0, 6-1 at number three. Senior
Danny Bonamassa (Staten Island, NY) finished the day with a 6-3, 6-2 win at number six.
The Eagles will be back this afternoon against #6 Concordia in a CACC match at Bronxville, N.Y. First serve set for 3:30.
