WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post University men's tennis team will face Caldwell on Wednesday, April 2 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match at Edgewood Bath and Tennis, in Middlebury, Conn. at 3 p.m.
The Eagles (4-7, 1-1 CACC) are on a three game win streak and won 26 out of a possible 27 points last week defeating Bloomfield twice and Dowling. Three Eagles received honors last week. Freshman
Alejandro Perez (Colombia) was named Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Player of the Week while sophomore
Peter Fanous (Cairo, Egypt) and freshman
Tyler Ruefenacht (Sandy Hook, Conn.) were named CACC Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively.
Perez is on a six game winning streak and is tied with senior
Danny Bonamassa (Staten Island, N.Y.) with a team-high eight victories this year.
The Cougars (2-2, 2-2 CACC) are coming back from a close defeat to conference foe, USciences, losing 5-4 on March 27. Caldwell defeated Philadelphia for the first time in school history 5-4 on March 22.
Last time both team met, the Eagles took down the Cougars 8-1 on April 11, 2013 at Caldwell, N.J.
