Eagles Drop CACC Opener To Chestnut Hill

Alejandro Perez Wins Third-Straight Singles Match

MIDDLEBURY, Conn. – The Post University men's tennis team dropped its first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game of the season to Chestnut Hill, 8-1, on Friday afternoon.
 
The Eagles (1-7, 0-1 CACC) dropped all three doubles. Freshman Tyler Rudenacht (Sandy Hook, Conn.) and junior Jonathyn Young (Norwalk, Conn.) failed to claim a point after taking a 5-2 lead and lost 8-5 at the number three spot.
 
In singles action, freshman Alejandro Perez (Colombia) won his fifth match of the year coming from behind to beat Kevin Taylor 0-6, 7-6, 10-8 at number three spot. Senior Danny Bonamassa (Staten Island, N.Y.) took the first game before falling short to Devin Hampton, 7-5, 0-6, 6-10, at the number six spot.
 
The Eagles will be back in action against Dowling on Sunday, March 23 in a non-conference match at Edgewood Bath and Tennis in Middlebury, Conn. First serve set for 1 p.m.
