Men’s Tennis Loses Closely Contested Match At Queens, 5-4

Perez and Bonamassa Pick Up Third Singles Victories of the Season



FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Post University men's tennis team dropped its sixth straight game on Friday morning 5-4 against the east region's sixth seed Queens College in Flushing, N.Y.
 
The Eagles (0-6) came out of the doubles with two points. Junior Nicholas Tadros (Montreal, Quebec) and sophomore Peter Fanous (Cairo, Egypt) won their doubles match at the number two spot beating Younes Hidass and Kevin Burgess 8-5.
 
In singles action, freshman Alejandro Perez (Colombia) and senior Danny Bonamssa (Staten Island, N.Y.) won their third straight singles cruising over Kevin Burgess 6-1, 6-4 at the number four spot and Howard Wong 6-0, 6-0 at the number six spot, respectively.
 
All eyes were on number five singles, which decided the winner. Junior Jonathyn Young (Norwalk, Conn.) failed to finish up the final set after coming back from one set down to lose to Adam Pizow 4-6 (7-5) 4-6.
 
The Eagles are back in action when they host Saint Thomas Aquinas College in a non-conference match at Edgewood Bath and Tennis in Middlebury, Conn on Thursday, March 20. First serve set for 3 p.m.
