WEST HAVEN, Conn. –  Down by double-digits with two minutes left the Post University men's basketball team cut the deficit to four but was unable to complete the comeback in a 70-63 loss at New Haven on Tuesday night. Senior
Nardie Bogues (Baltimore, Md.) led a trio of Eagles in double figures with 14 points.

Matt Mareno (San Francisco, Calif.) nailed a three off a dish from Bogues with 56 seconds remaining to trim the Chargers' lead to 65-61. After two free throws by New Haven freshman
Tyler Desrosiers (Agawam, Mass.) hit from distance to pull the Eagles within four points.

With 27 seconds left New Haven missed two from the line, but Post was unable to take advantage as the Chargers held on for the victory.

Post scored off a turnover to start the game, but were then held scoreless for five minutes as New Haven jumped in front 11-3. Freshman
Joseph Lockwood (London, England) scored on consecutive possessions to help the Eagles cut the lead to two.

New Haven would lead by as many as 11 in the first half. Desrosiers scored four points late in the half to pull Post within six at 27-21 with 2:35 left in the period. Post trailed 34-26 at the half.

Junior
David Seymour (Amityville, N.Y.) and Bogues each had five points as part of a 10-0 Post run in the second trim the deficit to 40-38 with 12:03 left. The Chargers answered with a 10-2 stretch and led by double-digits most of the way until the late Eagles' comeback.

Seymour scored 12 points, all in the second half, and added five rebounds. Desrosiers finished with 10 points. Sophomore
Jah'sheme Ringgold (Easton, Md.) had eight points and a team-high six boards.

The Eagles held a 15-4 advantage in points off turnovers.
