Eagles Drop CACC Contest To Wilmington 77-60

Bogues Scores 15 Points In Second Half

WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post University men's basketball team was defeated by Wilmington 77-60 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game on Saturday afternoon. Senior Nardie Bogues (Baltimore, Md.) scored all of his team-high 15 points in the second half.

The Eagles struggled to find their shot early as the Wildcats jumped in front 10-2. Freshman Tyler Desrosiers (Agawam, Mass.) hit from distance and classmate Joseph Lockwood (London, England) nailed a layup to cut the deficit to three midway through the half.

Wilmington jumped out to their largest lead of the first half with a 9-0 run to pull in front 23-11 with 6:59 left. Lockwood hit a three off a dish from Bogues to cap an 11-2 Post run and cut the lead to 24-21, but the Wildcats extended their advantage to 32-25 at the half.

A 17-2 run to open the second half put the game away for the visitors as Wilmington led 49-27. Bogues hit two shots from long range and the Eagles forced turnovers on four straight possessions as part of a 19-3 stretch that trimmed the lead to single-digits at 58-49. The Wildcats quickly jumped back in front by 16 and to end the comeback bid.

Desrosiers had 11 points and sophomore Jah'sheme Ringgold (Easton, Md.) scored 10 off the bench. Bogues added five assists and two steals. Freshman Matt Mareno (San Francisco, Calif.) grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds and had three blocks.

Post takes a break from conference play as it visits in-state rival New Haven on Tuesday, Dec. 9 in its only road game in December. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
