WATERBURY, Conn. – Coming off a victory over regionally-ranked Stonehill the Post University men's basketball team returns to the Drubner Center for two Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) games this week. The Eagles host Felician on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. and Wilmington Saturday at 3 p.m.

Last Time Out: Post 73, Stonehill 65 – Recap | Box ScorePost defeated Stonehill on Sunday afternoon in its home opener. The Skyhawks entered the game ranked fourth in the East Region. Things did not start how the Eagles wanted as they quickly fell behind 13-2 as the Skyhawks quickly made three from distance early on. Post chipped away at the lead over the next 10 minutes with a 13-2 run of its own to take a 19-18 lead with just over eight minutes remaining in the first half. Freshman
Matt Mareno (San Francisco, Calif.) hit two free-throws late in the half and the Eagles took a 29-28 lead into the break.

Nardie Bogues (Baltimore, Md.) and junior
Brandt Voiles (Byron, Ill.) each from distance as part of an 11-2 Post run to begin the second half, giving the Eagles a 40-30 advantage. Daniel Brix scored 10 straight points to tie the game and Stonehill pulled in front 48-42 with 9:43 left.

Freshman
Malik Howze (Detroit, Mich.) tied the game 50-50 with a three-pointer. After two free-throws by the Skyhawks, the Eagles drained threes on their next three possessions capped by a shot from freshman
Travis Flagg (Queens, N.Y.) as Post pulled in front for good at 59-52 with 4:26 remaining.

Bogues finished with 12 points and four assists. Flagg was 3-for-3 from distance and scored 10 points. Mareno and freshman
Joseph Lockwood (London, England) each grabbed a team-high nine boards.

Scouting the Golden FalconsFelician enters Wednesday night's game winless on the season, but three of the losses came by three points or less. Last time out a three-pointer in the final seconds gave Caldwell a 63-60 victory over the Golden Falcons. Jeyvi Miavivululu and J.R. Pringley are both in the top-10 in the CACC in scoring at 16.7 and 16.2 points per game, respectively. Miavivululu is also near the top of the conference at 7.0 rebounds per contest. Felician leads the CACC in rebounding averaging 42.2 boards per game.

All-Time Record vs. FelicianPost is 14-11 against the Golden Falcons since 2004, but has won seven of the last nine meetings. Felician has not defeated the Eagles at Drubner since the CACC Quarterfinals in 2009.

Scouting the WildcatsWilmington is 0-6 on the year, falling 70-61 to Kutztown last time out. The Wildcats will host Chestnut Hill on Wednesday before heading to Waterbury. Tyaire Ponzo-Meek averages 14.8 points per game and shoots 44.4 percent from distance to lead the team. Wilmington averages 68.7 points, but has allowed 80.3 per contest this season.

The Eagles have hit the offensive glass hard, holding an 85-41 advantage over its opponents this year. Post's offensive rebound average of 17.0 per game is good for fourth in Division II. The Eagles have grabbed a season-high 21 offensive boards twice in games against Daemen and Concordia.

Matt Mareno (San Francisco, Calif.) was named CACC Rookie of the Week on Dec. 1 for the second consecutive week. The freshman led the team with 15 points, nine rebounds, and three blocks in the victory over Stonehill. This season Mareno leads the team and is near the top of the conference with 15.6 points and 9.2 rebounds per game.

Starting From ScratchThe Eagles return just one player from a year ago in sophomore
Rokas Lapsys (Vilnius, Lithuania). Lapsys appeared in just three games, averaging 9.3 minutes per outing. This year's roster features 13 players including six freshman, two sophomores, four juniors, and one senior. The players come from all over the globe with two from England in freshmen
Kyle Squire (Cheshire, England) and
Joseph Lockwood (London, England) and one from Australia, junior
Shannon McCready (Melbourne, Australia) and Lithuania.

Preseason PollPost was picked to finish fifth in the CACC North Division this year. The Eagles received 41 votes. Bloomfield and Philadelphia were selected to finish first in the North and South Divisions, respectively.
